Becoming a Network Congregation
There is great safisfaction for a congregation that chooses to participate in Family Promise.
- The opportunity for an outreach ministry (within the congregation's own facilities) focusing on the needs of people in the community.
- An increased sense of community among members as they work together in shared mission.
- The opportunity to be part of an interfaith partnership addressing the needs of the most vulnerable members of our community – our children!
Host Congregations provide overnight lodging, meals and hospitality in their facility. Hosting rotates among the eight to thirteen Host Congregations, four to six times a year, for one week, providing lodging for three to four families from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the next morning.
Support Congregations provide support to Family Promise and it's host congregations through their financial contributions and volunteers suppprt. Volunteers may be asked to provide meals, transportation or spend time with our guest families, including spending the night.
